Summer Experiences Filled With Art & Interaction…

Each summer the LAA invites children to spread their creative wings at our series of free educational art workshops. The Summer Art Workshop series runs periodically from June to August and offers children an opportunity to experience art instruction in a fun and creative setting. The LAA’s professional, talented and award-winning artists teach classes in clay, robot recyclables, poured and dripped painting, collage, watercolor, pressed flowers, self-portrait, drawing and much more. Your children can experience a working artist’s environment firsthand and learn from professional and practicing artists.

Summer Classes: FUNdamental

For six years, the LAA has offered these summer classes increasing enrollment and the number of classes offered each year. Annual favorite classes such as the Robot Recyclables offer children an opportunity to exercise their imaginations by constructing robots from cereal boxes, cardboard tubes, corks and bottle caps. Classes in FIMO clay focus on sculpting small objects and animals that can be baked and turned into fun toys and jewelry. Our new class called Poured and Dripped Painting gives children a hands-on experience into the world of abstract painter Jackson Pollack. Classes in shading and perspective drawing introduce beginners to the skills of drawing as well as permit drawers that are more skilled a chance to improve their technique.
