Margaret Tsirantonakis

Margaret Tsirantonakis is best known for her intense use of color. Her paintings are driven by bold brushstrokes, calligraphic looseness and warm/cool color relationships. A starting point in her work is often an observed experience in nature. Using a spontaneous approach she allows the painting process to guide her. Tsirantonakis’ Mediterranean roots and frequent travels to her place of birth, Crete, Greece have a strong influence on her work. She received her BFA from Parsons School of Design. In 2019, she had her third solo exhibition at Prince Street Gallery, Chelsea, New York City. Her work is in private collections in the US, Europe and Japan. She lives and works in Stamford, CT. She has been a studio member of the Loft Artists Association since 1995.
