The Intro

Our annual juried shows are open to artists located in the tri state region of Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and nationwide. Each year a prominent museum curator or gallery director is selected to jury the exhibit. The juror determines a theme for the exhibit and helps come up with the prospectus.

Why visit

The juried exhibits encourage artists throughout the country to submit artwork inspired by a particular theme or subject. For artists, it is an opportunity to share their work to a broader audience and exhibit alongside artists they might otherwise never know.  Participating artists get exposure to a new audience and area. This exposure can lead to new opportunities for sales and other exhibits . Our exhibits are widely publicized drawing a broad and diverse range of visitors.

Visiting a juried exhibit is a unique opportunity to see the work of artists not necessarily from the local area.  The exhibits are high quality as artists submit their best work.  This creates a chance for the public to view museum quality exhibits for free. The jurors are professionals in their fields and many have a following attracting artists who respect their opinions and ideas for themed exhibits.

“My Favorite Piece(s)” encourages artists to re-engage with their collections of work and consider what pieces inspire, intrigue and still excite them, whether produced yesterday or ten years ago. The theme promises to ignite an eclectic mix of artwork and evoke a kind of retrospective feeling, not of just one artist, but of many artists. Loft Artists Association curator, Mark Macrides, will jury the exhibit.

A glimpse into the past

Past Juried exhibits such as Visual Narratives and Relishing Restraint have been very well received in the community. Each exhibit drew over 300 entries from over 120 artists.  We were excited to meet and exhibit work from many professional artists with strong resumes and also from many emerging artists hoping to break into the exhibition mainstream. Through these exhibits we have attracted and admitted several wonderful new members to the Loft Artists Association.
